"Family-to-Family," is a free,12-session course provided by NAMI Sussex that educates and supports families who have loved ones who cope with mental illness. The course teaches participants how to manage crises and solve problems, to communicate effectively with their loved one, to be well-informed advocates, as well as how to manage their own stress. Current research, medications and treatment strategies are also discussed. The illnesses covered in the course include depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, borderline personality disorder, anxiety disorders, OCD and PTSD.
